Backflow preventers

Not everyone immediately thinks of a backflow preventer – you may not even know you have one! But they are super important: they prevent polluted water from flowing back into the water supply network. Because believe me, no one wants an unexpected taste surprise at a different tap.

With a backflow preventer, such as a check valve, water only flows in one direction. It’s simple: water in the right direction? Valve open. Water back? Valve closed. Problem solved.

When do you need a backflow preventer?

Actually anywhere where there is a risk of polluted water going back into the pipe. Think of:

  • At home : central heating system, washing machine, dishwasher, and even coffee makers that are connected to the water supply.
  • Industrial : Large machines or equipment that are directly connected.

Installing a check valve is a small effort, but it prevents a lot of misery. And hey, better safe than sorry, right?
